I think that something is a place when it has defined dimensions, and you can name where it is, and it is special to you. So the way I think of it, it has to be a partial proportion of space. Then space is everything it is undefined and is incalculable, everything you can think of is in some space, so to answer the question there is a difference. For example Stratton is a space because I am not defining one place. But coach Knoll is a place because it is specific. In my photo montage, I put place into it by drawing a map of North American and putting pictures of me and my friend on the trail and me skiing on it. I changed the opacity on a couple of my photos because some pictures are more important than others. This unit was fun once I kind of figure out how to use photoshop!
